IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS FOLLOWING YOUR PROCEDURE (Days 1–5), it is normal to experience light flaking or scabbing, tenderness, dryness, mild itching, and slight swelling or redness. Healing varies from person to person; if you are feeling unwell or your immune system is compromised, healing may take longer.
INITIAL AFTERCARE INCLUDES gently blotting the treated area with a clean tissue to absorb any excess fluid or lymph. Do not rub or apply pressure to the procedure site. For brows, blot gently throughout the first day to prevent buildup of fluids. Keep hair away from the treated area for the first 48 hours. When washing your hair, tilt your head back to avoid contact with the brows. CLEANSE THE PROCEDURE AREA MORNING AND NIGHT using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser for the first week. Pat dry with a clean towel or tissue—do not rub the area. After cleansing, apply a very thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment 2–3 times daily. Do not over-apply; the skin should be lightly hydrated, not saturated.
CONTINUE GENTLE CLEANSING AND MOISTURIZING until the area is fully healed. This can take up to 3 weeks following the first few days of the procedure. Flaking and fading may occur during this phase—this is a normal part of the healing process. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT pick, scratch, or rub the treated area at any point during healing, as this can cause pigment loss, scarring, or infection. Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, saunas, steam, and excessive heat. Avoid swimming or submerging the area in water until fully healed. Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 7 days.
IF SWELLING OCCURS, you may apply a cold compress or ice pack for short intervals (10 minutes at a time), ensuring it is not applied directly to the skin. Sleeping with your head elevated on the first night may also help reduce swelling. COLOR CHANGES WILL OCCUR during the healing process, in which case your PMU outcome may appear darker and more defined immediately after the procedure. This is temporary. The color will soften and lighten within 4–7 days as the skin begins to heal. Final results will develop over the course of 4–6 weeks.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION INCLUDE, but are not limited to: increased redness, swelling, or tenderness at the procedure site. While mild irritation is normal, worsening symptoms should be taken seriously. Seek medical care immediately if you experience red streaks extending from the area toward the heart, elevated body temperature (fever), or pus/unusual drainage from the site.
A TOUCHUP SESSION IS REQUIRED 6–8 weeks after your initial procedure to perfect and retain results. The touch-up fee is $200 and is not included in the initial session.
PLEASE BE ADVISED that throughout the entire healing process, it is crucial to avoid unnecessary contact, friction, or contamination of the treated area. Keep the area clean and follow all aftercare instructions carefully to ensure optimal results and minimize risk of complications.
